Vegan Heavyweight Boxer David Haye Continues his Rampage and Brings an End to Arnold Gjergjaj’s 29-0 Unbeaten Run

David Haye continued his rampage this evening after defeating 6 foot 5 inch, 112 kilogram (17 stone 9 pounds) Arnold ‘The Cobra’ Gjergjaj.

The 31 year old Kosovo-Albanian was previously undefeated (29-0), but seemed no match for Haye who managed to take Gjergjaj down twice in the first round - the first within 40 seconds. Within the first few seconds of the second round, Haye sent Gjergjaj back down to the canvas with a left jab. 

After Gjergjaj had been sent to the canvas again with 1 minute 23 seconds remaining in the second round the referee declared the fight over and Haye was announced winner.

The event known as 'Haye Day 2' took place at The O2 Arena in London, UK and was shown live on the TV channel 'Dave'. Haye will donate a 10% of the ticket sales to Nick Blackwell, a boxer previously injured in a fight.

Haye has been following a completely vegan diet for the last two years since sustaining a shoulder injury that almost caused him to retire permanently but has now come back stronger, bigger and fitter than ever before.

In his comeback fight on January 16 earlier this year, more than 16,000 spectators packed into The O2 to witness him deliver a signature right hand to KO top 10 WBA ranked Mark de Mori. The fight lasted just 121 seconds in what was Haye’s eighth first round KO of his professional career and 25th knockout in his 27 professional wins.

The next fight for Haye is confirmed to be against Shannon 'The Cannon' Briggs in September.
